Working At Height

When working at any height consideration must be given to the worker and ensuring their safety. If it is not possible to prevent exposure to an at height risk there are two main systems employed. 

1. Fall restraint system. This prevents a worker from being exposed to a fall situation. For example if working on a 2.5 meter wide ledge a 1.5m restraint cable is attached to the wall preventing the worker from being able to reach the edge.
2. Fall arrest system. This will allow the worker to be exposed to a fall situation but if they do fall will stop them from colliding with any objects or the ground and allowing them to rescue themselves or be resuced.
